Lisa Zimmer grew up in large family in Dearborn, Michigan.  After obtaining her nursing degree from Henry Ford Community College, she worked at Sinai Hospital in the surgical unit. Following Sinai Hospital, she worked as a charge nurse for the American Red Cross. During this time, she became reacquainted with high school friend, Joe Zimmer, whom she married shortly after.

Lisa resigned from her nursing career in 1990 and founded “Just for Kids.” As a mother of three young boys, she managed to begin fundraising and develop the organization beyond her greatest expectations. Her husband took an overseas job in 1994, and the family moved to Munich, Germany.

While Lisa was away, “Just for Kids” continued to grow. A donation of $100,000 was given to the new Mott Children’s Hospital for the construction of an indoor park for the children.

“Just for Kids” began as a girl’s simple wish to fulfill the needs of children and their families. Now, a decade later, the organization has grown beyond its expected potential and fulfilled the wishes of hundreds of deserving children and their families.

Lisa and Joe reside in Northville, Michigan, with their three sons, Benjamin, Alex and Jonathan.

Mike Hopkins has been a successful businessman for over 40 years. With outstanding business skills and a growing network with the business world, Mike believed he could provide more charitable funds to continue and expand the work being done by “Just for Kids.” With Mike's ability to network amongst Fortune 500 business professionals, “Just for Kids” was able to gain and secure many repeat donors.

“It is an incredible organization. Just being able to help give Lisa the financial tools she needs to take care of these families and knowing their stories, you cannot help but have a great feeling about it.”

On a more personal note, Mike’s involvement in the organization is reflective of his dedicated character. As a father of two and the CEO of his own company, he has been able to provide his children with successful careers in the business world. At “Just for Kids”, Mike is devoted to putting smiles on children’s faces. With eight grandchildren of his own, he understands the significance of a smile.

Mike enjoys traveling, golfing and spending time with his wife Vicky.

Angela Carson has been a professional photographer for over 20 years.  She specializes in photographing babies, children and their families.  In 2010, Angela was looking for a creative and philanthropic project.  She decided to create a coffee table art book of newborn baby portraits.  “Angela’s Baby Project” was born out of Angela’s need to do for others less fortunate.  She wanted to make sure that the proceeds of the book project stayed in Michigan and went to children -- “Just for Kids” was the perfect recipient of her efforts.

Lisa and Mike asked Angela to bring her knowledge of marketing and communications to “Just for Kids.” Angela’s work has enabled us to bring our vision of the foundation to our supporters in numerous ways.

Angela lives in Northville, Michigan with her husband Steve Post and loves spending time with her five nieces & nephews.
